Flame Control’s Flame Control No. 6
A clear wood sanding sealer. This sealer is used in conjunction with Flame Control No. 166 Class “A” Intumescent Fire Retardant Varnish. It should be used to seal all new and open grained woods prior to the application of No. 166. The use of No. 6 sealer prevents penetration and strike-in of No. 166, thereby providing a finish that has film and sheen uniformity. No. 6 is also available in a low-VOC version (No. 66A).
Flame Control’s Flame Control No. 166
Class “A”, clear satin fire retardant varnish suitable for application to interior wood surfaces. Recommended for wood beams, columns, ceiling and wall paneling. Not recommended for use on doors, casings or other surfaces subjected to constant handling, as this varnish is somewhat softer than conventional varnishes. For doors, door casings, and other hard use surfaces, we suggest Flame Control No. 129/130 or No. 141 varnishes be utilized. No. 166 may be topcoated with Flame Control No. 167 Fire Retardant Varnish Overcoat to obtain a low, semi or hi-gloss finish.
Flame Control’s Flame Control No. 167
Class “A” rated, interior fire retardant varnish overcoat. Available in three sheens: low, semi, and hi-gloss. Rated Class “A” when applied as a topcoat over Flame Control No. 166 Class “A” Intumescent Fire Retardant Varnish. The use of No. 167 improves the cleanability, moisture resistance and overall durability of No. 166. It should be utilized on all surfaces that will be subjected to periodic washing or cleansing, and where maximum durability is desired.
Flame Control’s Flame Control No. 129
Class “B” rated, interior/exterior fire retardant varnish. Mineral spirits reducible, designed for use on doors, trim lumber, decorative wood, wood paneling and other hard use surfaces. Retains the natural wood appearance. Rated as a system, overcoat with Flame Control No. 130 Fire Retardant Varnish Overcoat.
Flame Control’s Flame Control No. 130
Class “B” rated, interior/exterior fire retardant varnish overcoat. Mineral spirits reducible. Used as an overcoat for Flame Control No. 129, No. 130 is available in low, semi, or hi-gloss.
Flame Control’s Flame Control No. 133A
Flame Control No. 133A is a water base, fire retardant polyurethane varnish, with a semi-gloss sheen. It is designed for use on all new or previously coated wood surfaces (except floors). The varnish will not leach or turn white with aging or washing.
Flame Control’s Flame Control No. 141
Class “B” rated, clear, transparent semi or high gloss finish, designed for interior use on gym floors and other wood floor surfaces, where maximum resistance to abrasion, scrubbing, and washing is required. No. 141 is also suitable for use on other interior surfaces such as wood paneling, doors, trim, wainscoating, stairs, and concrete floors.
Flame Control’s Flame Control No. 10
Class “B” rated, clear fire retardant penetrating wood treatment designed for use on old weathered and new cedar shakes and shingles. The coating penetrates, depositing its fire retardant, water insoluble polymers, deep within the fibers of the wood, thereby providing long-lasting protection. As this material does not form a continuous film, it will not restrict the normal expansion and contraction of the shakes and shingles. This treatment will add years to the wood’s life expectancy, but will not prevent the natural darkening (weathered appearance) of the cedar shakes and shingles. No. 10 is also available in a low-VOC version (10 VOC).
